Perth to Host the 2nd World Congress on Rheumatic Heart Disease in November 2026
The World Heart Federation (WHF), in partnership with the Heart Foundation of Australia, has announced that Perth will host the Second World Congress on Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) from 12 to 14 November 2026. Building on the success of the inaugural World Congress on RHD in Abu Dhabi in 2023, the 2026 gathering will focus on strengthening global collaboration to improve diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and care for rheumatic heart disease. ARC member, Jonathan Carapetis and Network Director, Andrea Beaton are leaders on the planning committee for the Congress.
We are eager to ensure strong representation from the ARC network at this important global meeting. Once the official calls for abstracts, talks, and presentations are announced, we will share a coordinated communication to help organize and support ARC-led submissions across scientific, clinical, and implementation-focused tracks.
Rather than a full-day ARC network meeting, we will host a social hour for network members in attendance of the Congress. In addition, a formal biomarker discovery meeting will be organized in conjunction with the World Congress. Further details, including timing and participation, will be shared as plans are finalized.
Please stay tuned for additional updates as more information becomes available.
